CPA Deputy General Manager Invited to Deliver Speech at 26th Beijing-HK Economic Cooperation Symposium – Beijing-HK IP Session  

On 29 November 2023, the 26th Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium – Beijing-Hong Kong Intellectual Property Thematic Session, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office (BMIPO), the Intellectual Property Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government (IPD), and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), was held in Beijing. The theme of the session was "Strengthen Intellectual Property Protection, Build a Good Innovation Ecosystem Together".

More than 100 guests attended the thematic session, and 67,000 viewers watched its live broadcast on Baidu. China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) deputy general manager Mr. Hu Gang was invited to attend the session and deliver keynote speech. CPA Legal Affairs Department deputy manager Mr. Ji Changzhi and Trademark Department deputy manager Ms. Rachel Zhang were also attendees of the session.

The keynote speech of CPA deputy general manager Mr. Hu Gang was about "Fine-tuning and strengthening IP services to help enterprises enhance international competitiveness". In his speech, Mr. Hu emphasised the importance of supportive IP services and proper IP strategies for corporate and industrial development, briefed on the development status of the IP service industry and the integral role it plays in the protection of IP, and analysed the development trends and direction of the IP service industry.

Mr. Hu further said that CPA, as one of the oldest and most well-established IP agencies in China, serves our clients around the world with unswerving adherence to the principle of integrity, and provides whole-chain IP services from application, granting, protection to exploitation of IP rights. With 2024 marking the 40th anniversary of CPA, our firm looks forward to working with various parties to promote IP exchanges between China and its foreign counterparts, and helping with the improvement of the country's industrial chain innovation.

During the session, speeches were also delivered by industry experts from the BMIPO, Beijing Internet Court, Beijing Intellectual Property Operation Management Co., Ltd., Deacons, and Vista Innotech Ltd. The topics explored included judicial protection of IP, the patent administrative adjudication mechanism, diversification of IP dispute resolution, new ideas and emerging practices for IP rights protection, and corporate IP portfolio strategies.
