Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office Leads Delegation to Visit CPA HK

On 6 December 2023, Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office (BJIPO) deputy director general Mr. Pan Xinsheng, together with Capital Intellectual Property Services Association (CIPSA) executive vice president Mr. Gao Yongyi and heads of some intellectual property (IP) firms in Beijing, visited China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) at its Hong Kong headquarters. Mr. Pan, Mr. Gao and other members of the delegation were welcomed and met by CPA general manager Mr. Wu Yuhe, deputy general manager Mr. Sun Jiuchun, and managers of various business departments at the headquarters.

At the meeting, BJIPP deputy director general Mr. Pan introduced BJIPP's efforts in responding to the national IP strategy of strengthening the top-level design of IP, piloting data protection, enhancing the performance in IP innovation index, institutionalising patent commercialisation and exploitation, and promoting international IP exchanges. He also shared information on the services and development of the Beijing Intellectual Property Protection Center and Zhongguancun Intellectual Property Promotion Center.

CPA general manager Mr. Wu gave an overview of our firm's history, and briefed on our efforts in the aspects of talent training, publicity work, and supporting the national IP strategy by assisting domestic enterprises in their going global.

CIPSA executive vice president Mr. Gao made suggestions and expressed expectations on consolidating cooperation between all parties, strengthening cultivation and circulation of professional talents, ensuring the ecological health of the patent agency industry, and increasing the participation of IP firms in relevant policy revisions.
