CPA Volunteer Team Deliver Zongzi & Care to Needy Families & Elderlies on Eve of Dragon Boat Festival

On 17 June 2023, the weekend before the Dragon Boat Festival, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA)'s volunteer team in conjunction with the volunteer teams of eight Chinese enterprises in Hong Kong, including China Everbright Hong Kong and Bank of China Hong Kong, delivered "zongzi" to grassroots families and the elderly at nursing homes to share festive joy with them. "Zongzi" is a glutinous rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo leaves to make and eat with family members and friends as a notable part of celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival.

It was a rainy day that day. To carry out their mission, CPA volunteers and other participants braved the pouring rain to conduct home visits, sending gift packages to and having cordial conversations with the residents. Ms. Wang Guannan, director of the representative office of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Hong Kong and Macao, also visited the households together with the volunteers. After the home visits, our volunteers proceeded to three nursing homes in the southern district of Hong Kong Island, handing out zongzi and fruit and spreading merriment among the elderlies.

This community care activity, benefiting more than 2,000 people, was organised by the Central and Western District Care Team of Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises to give holiday blessings and to raise public awareness on community responsibilities.
