CPA Invited to Participate in 5G Patent Innovation Quality Roundtable

On 29 October 2023, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) Electronics and Electricity Department manager Mr. Liu Peng attended the 5G Patent Innovation Quality Forum held in Beijing.

 

This forum, jointly hosted by China Justice Big Data Institute and Beijing IPHOUSE Network Technology Development Co., Ltd. (IPHOUSE), explored issues concerning 5G standard essential patents (SEPs) analysis reporting and improvement of transparency of this kind of reports. During the forum, IPHOUSE released its report on a one-year comparative research into 5G SEPs search and analysis reporting, using 15 5G SEPS reports from various countries that were published within the past five years as the basis of studies.

 

The forum also featured a roundtable session. Mr. Liu Peng was invited to the roundtable discussion, during which he had an in-depth discussion and full exchange of views with other industry experts on issues relating to 5G SEPs search and analysis pathways and research methods, with special relevance to the standardization, accuracy, completeness and timeliness thereof.

 

This forum, serving as a platform for scholars, judges, corporate legal counsel, and attorneys to share information and views on 5G SEPs-related legal issues, is beneficial to enhancing the consistency and rigor of relevant reporting. In addition to the on-site participants, the forum had an online attendance of nearly a thousand from home and abroad.
