CPA Delegation Attend MARQUES 37th Annual Conference
On 19-22 September 2023, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) Beijing Office deputy director Mr. Wen Dapeng, Munich Office director Mr. Deng Ming, and Beijing Office Trademark Department deputy manager Ms. Nicole Yu attended the MARQUES 37th Annual Conference held in Berlin, Germany.
The theme of this year's MARQUES conference was "In Brands We Trust: The Next Frontier". The conference sessions addressed in particular how diversity and the cultural environment affect brand authenticity, and topics discussed included: piloting brands; steering brands in a time of crisis; how economic, social and cultural factors affect brand strategies; risk and rewards for brands in the metaverse; and new rules for e-commerce and AI. There were also panels hosted by the WIPO and the EUIPO regarding recent developments in law and practice in various jurisdictions.
During the conference, our colleagues participated in multiple panels organised by members of different MARQUES teams and benefited from the views and perspectives shared in the sessions. They also took advantage of this valuable opportunity to meet and engage in in-depth, extensive exchanges with clients and associates from around the world.
