CPA Attends Debut Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development
On 14 September 2023, the first-ever Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development was held in Macao. The event was co-sponsored by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), and the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (Macao SAR). CCPIT chairman Mr. Ren Hongbin, Macao SAR chief executive Mr. Ho Iat Seng, and HKSAR chief executive Mr. John Lee were present and delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the conference.
The two-day conference gathered more than 1,000 guests from domestic and foreign political, business, and academic circles, discussing topics of concern including digital economy, green finance, and culture tourism and expo. During the session, the Macao initiatives on further promotion of the development of the Greater Bay Area through international business cooperation and CCPIT's report on international business cooperation in developing the Greater Bay Area were released; the unveiling ceremony of the Greater Bay Area Arbitration Centre (South China Sub-commission) of the China Maritime Arbitration Commission was performed; and project matching and negotiations were conducted.
China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA), represented by general manager Mr. Wu Yuhe, Personnel Department manager Mr. Zhang Wei, Shenzhen Office director Ms. Wang Danqing, and Patent Application Department manager Mr. Sun Zhigang, attended the conference. During the session, our colleagues gave lectures at the invitation of the University of Macau for the university's faculty, students and intellectual property transfer department on overseas patent application portfolio management and the constitution of high-quality patents. Our colleagues also engaged in active conversations with various trade promotion commissions of the Greater Bay Area present at the conference, many of them showing strong interest in our firm's training to assist local enterprises in increasing awareness of IP protection overseas, managing IP compliance risks, and devising "going global" strategies.
