CPA Hosts Lectures on IP Risk Response Strategies for Chinese Enterprises Going Abroad
On 18 August 2023, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) in conjunction with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shenzhen Municipal Committee (CCPIT Shenzhen) and Beijing Guozhuan Intellectual Property Co., Ltd. (Guozhuan) hosted lectures on patent and trademark risks prevention and response strategies for Chinese enterprises going abroad. About 100 representatives, including those from Legal Affairs Department of CCPIT Shenzhen, Guozhuan, CPA Shenzhen Office, and Shenzhen municipal's foreign market-oriented enterprises attended the lectures on-site, while at the same time, 100-plus corporate representatives participated in the event through online live broadcast.
CPA Trademark Department manager Ms. Rachel Zhang, CPA Legal Affairs Department patent attorney Mr. Tang Chunlong, and Guozhuan Business Department director Ms. Lei Jing spoke for the occasion on the topics of "trademark systems and strategies for enterprises going abroad", "FTO search and analysis of overseas patents", and "overseas patent fee management risks and strategies" respectively, delving into the key patent and trademark-related risks to note in going abroad, measures of preventing and addressing the risks, and relevant risk management strategies. CPA and Guozhuan are both executive directors of National Advisory Center for Overseas Intellectual Property Dispute Settlement, which was launched jointly by China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and CCPIT in 2019 to guide and serve Chinese enterprises in safeguarding their IP rights overseas, and to help them better understand and respect the IP systems and rules of overseas jurisdictions.
