On 24 April 2023, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) general manager Mr. Wu Yuhe visited China Intellectual Property Society (CIPS) together with CPA deputy general manager Mr. Wang Jingchao, CPA assistant general manager Mr. Xiong Yanfeng, and CPA Legal Affairs Department manager Mr. Wen Dapeng. During the recently held 8th congress of the CIPS, Mr. Wu was elected vice chairman of the eighth board of directors of the CIPS, and Mr. Wang, Mr. Xiong, and Mr. Wen elected executive members of the board.

 

Our delegation was met by CIPS vice chairman and secretary general Mr. Xie Xiaoyong. During the meeting, general manager Mr. Wu recalled that both the CIPS and CPA were established in 1984, and since its inception CPA has joined the CIPS. CPA appreciated CIPS's guidance and support throughout the nearly four decades in many aspects including academic exchanges, professional training, and information provision. And as vice-chairman of the CIPS, CPA will leverage this position, in combination with its experience in foreign-related legal services, to play the role of providing guidance on addressing overseas intellectual property (IP) disputes for other members, thereby realising IP's contribution to high quality social and economic development.

 

CIPS secretary-general Mr. Xie also expressed his gratitude to CPA for its long-term support, and expounded on CIPS' edges in expert resources, full-chain IP services, and guidance on addressing overseas disputes. He further expressed his wish that under the leadership of the new board, the CIPS will embrace challenges and shoulder new missions towards fulfilling its next stage of development.
