CPA Delegation Take Part in Business of IP Asia Forum 2023

On 7-8 December 2023, the Business of IP Asia Forum 2023, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), was held in Hong Kong, attracting over 2,500 participants. China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) also attended the event, represented by a ten-plus delegation led by Mr. Wu Yuhe, general manager of CPA. 

The welcome remarks of the Forum were made by HKTDC executive director Ms. Margaret Fong, and the opening remarks delivered by Dr. Lu Pengqi, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), Mr. Michael Wong, Deputy Financial Secretary of the Government of the HKSAR, and Mr. Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

This year’s BIP Asia Forum, organised under the theme of "IP & Innovation: Steering New Economic Growth", gathered more than 140 international intellectual property (IP) experts and business leaders to explore how IP and innovation enhance business growth. Through an array of activities including policy dialogue, plenary and breakout sessions, conferences, and workshops, various themes were discussed, among them "Powering Economic Growth through a Future-ready IP Policy", "Underpinning Brand Success: IP Strategies in the Digital Era", "Constructing a Renowned Greater Bay Area with IP", and "A Multi-faceted Approach to Managing Modern IP".

CPA was also an exhibitor of the BIP Asia exhibition held alongside the Forum. Our colleagues took the opportunity to conduct extensive exchanges with industry peers as well as meet the forum participants, answering their queries, sharing information with them, and offering them advice on IP-related issues.
